About Destiny Temple of Faith
Our mission:
To empower individuals to grow spiritually, live out God’s word practically, and live life on purpose through the transformative power of Jesus Christ.
At DTOF we believe that every person is created in the image of God (Genesis 1:26) for a specific purpose. Thus we all have a destiny to fulfill. DTOF’s goal is to help people living along the Route 1 corridor in Alexandria, Virginia to reach the destiny of their lives through the transforming power of Jesus Christ. Our focus will be spiritual growth, economic empowerment, and health/fitness. As homelessness increases along the Route 1 corridor one of our long term goals is to build affordable housing units to combat and eradicate this problem in Southern Fairfax County.
In order to live out and achieve the purpose for which we were created our bodies must be cared for, nurtured, and be healthy. As I Corinthians 6:19-20 states, “The Body Is the Temple of God”. The body is where the Spirit of God dwells; therefore we need healthy bodies to reach our fullest potential. Our mind, soul and our bodies are one. When one part of us is not well or functioning at its optimum level, then the rest of the body suffers. DTOF will focus and practice a holistic approach to ministry. We will minister to the entire person, the mind, body, soul and spirit, as one being, because we are one, whole being created in the image of God.
Our Vision:
Our vision is for all members of society to live in a just and equitable world regardless of their race, gender, nationality, economic status or sexual orientation.
Our foundational scripture:
Ephesians 3:20 –“Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us” (NIV translation).
